"It certainly sounds like it"
If you haven’t heard, the biggest annual event in gaming – E3 – is right around the corner, and PlayStation fans have a lot to be excited about. For starters, Sony’s E3 press conference occurs at 6pm PT on Monday, June 4th. Greg and I will be there in the flesh, mere meters away from the gorgeous Jack Tretton and stunning Kaz Hirai. And you’ll have plenty of options to watch it, too, whether streaming on your PS3, on the PlayStation Blog or right here on IGN.
But there’s more interesting news to digest if you choose to take a quick gander at Sony’s official E3 website. There, Sony notes that, on the show floor, you can “be one of the first to witness the launch of more than 20 new gaming experiences.” Does this mean what we all hope it means? Could Sony possibly be revealing more than 20 new titles at E3?
The vagueness of the language could point to something else entirely. Why not just say “20 new games” if that’s what it was? However, there’s plenty of evidence pointing in a more exciting direction. Sony has been unleashing a torrent of PS3 reveals lately, including those for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, God of War: Ascension and LittleBigPlanet Karting. The common theme between those three games? They’re all easily E3 press conference-caliber titles. Why would Sony show them before E3, if not to make room for other games? A deluge of Vita games, perhaps?
