We first got wind of Malicious nearly two years ago, when word leaked from Japan that under-the-radar developer Alvion was working on a PlayStation Network exclusive action game. The game has since been announced for PlayStation Vita as well, though details on its portable release in any territory are still scarce.
Nonetheless, with Malicious having been launched in October of 2010 in Japan and earlier this year in Europe, it’s high time the game came to North America. And now we know, thanks to the PlayStation Blog, that Malicious is set to launch Stateside on Tuesday, July 24th. It will cost $9.99.
Malicious is an interesting title in that it revolves entirely around boss fights. There’s apparently no progression through actual stages. There’s good news tucked inside this rather strange formula, however. Old-school fans of series like Mega Man will be delighted to learn that Malicious packs a stage select feature that lets you fight bosses in any order, and you even get any given boss’s weapon or power once you defeat them.
