Demon’s Souls is perhaps PlayStation 3’s quintessential cult classic, spawning two sequels (one out, another forthcoming) and reviving the hardcore difficulty of old-school games that’s been mostly lost to history. Released exclusively on PlayStation 3 back in 2009, Demon’s Souls’ success took Sony itself by surprise, since it opted not to publish the game in the west as it did in its native Japan.
With the game now several years old and difficult to find new, Sony has announced a new way for PlayStation 3 gamers to get their hands on it: starting on Tuesday, January 8th, you can download the game directly from the PlayStation Network.
For now, the game has only been verified for digital release in North America, and it will cost $19.99. If you’re unsure whether the game is for you, be sure to read or full review and watch our video review, embedded above.
