Do you ps3 trophies carry over to the ps4 via your psn?

I was at work and a guy mentioned to me that your trophies don't go to your ps4 from your ps3. I thought he was full of shit because there's no reason that they shouldn't be able to. He also said Xbox one did have the gamerscrore carry over.

I don't plan on getting one for a whole. There's no games out on it right now that interest me and since it's not backwards compatible I don't see the point in upgrading while I still need to beat ps3 games. But Lars has one.
