PlayStation Now will recommends an internet connection speed of 5Mb/s to ensure a "good experience", according to Sony.
The information comes courtesy of our time exploring the service at CES, where we got an opportunity to witness first-hand how PS3 games look being streamed through the system.
PlayStation Now is expected to launch in the US this summer on PS3 and PS4, with rumours of a beta already circulating. While solid information on minimum connection strength will probably come out of that, as of this moment the expectation is that a 5Mb/s connection will provide a good experience for most games.
Meanwhile on the PS Blog, Sony Computer Entertainment America social media manager Sid Shuman noted that to use PlayStation Now with 2014 Bravia televisions (which will be available slightly after it launches on PS3 and PS4), you'll need a DualShock 3 controller, so be sure not to throw all of yours away if you've upgraded to PS4. He also admitted that, as you'd expect, "minor concessions in the visual department, such as compression artifacts, consistent with high-quality internet video or gameplay streamed via PS Vita Remote Play" are also present for the time being.
There's still no firm information on when Europeans will be seeing PlayStation Now, though the best guess is 2015 at the earliest as Sony has admitted problems with broadband strength in Europe.
