At its press conference today, Microsoft debuted the first single-player footage from Halo 4. In a scene reminiscent of Halo 3’s intro, we saw a new four-legged enemy type that Cortana described as “some kind of defense AI, not Covenant.”
The enemies appeared to travel in packs. Another new enemy group looked like bugs and were not organic. The second type were larger and had masks that opened to reveal skulls. In addition, new aerial sentries were shown.
The footage revealed that Chief and Cortana will communicate this time around, and Chief’s new visor modes and Forerunner weaponry were shown. A new vehicle was also shown and Chief was referred to as the “Reclaimer.” Chief is also able to summon UNSC to come to wherever he is.
