In its latest Halo Bulletin, Halo 4 developer 343 Industries unveiled a new multiplayer map called Longbow. It looks a little something like this:
Because it's set in the "northern polar region of the planet Concord," Longbow is a rather snowy place. It's meant to highlight a to-be-announced multiplayer mode, but it worked just fine for Slayer when we played Halo 4 multiplayer at E3.
Longbow is a sprawling symmetrical map great for vehicular combat as well as infantry -- Ghosts and Warthogs tear through snow and Spartans while Spartan Lasers and frags cut them to pieces. DMRs and Battle Rifles will work better here than any short-range weaponry, and getting the high ground at a vehicle station or raised platforms can give your team a serious advantage.
Longbow presents a great balance between hectic and spread out, something Halo's always been considerate about.
