Black Friday week sales nearly double Wii U launch.
Microsoft has revealed that 750,000 Xbox 360 consoles were sold in the United States during the week of Black Friday. The number represents sales between Sunday, November 18th and Friday, November 23rd and is down slightly compared to the 960,000 consoles Microsoft sold on Black Friday Last year.
By comparison, this year's figure nearly doubles the 400,000 Wii U consoles sold by Nintendo during the same week.
Microsoft also notes that Halo 4 sales “exceeded expectations with impressive sales” during the week and that “Xbox Live Gold subscription card sales increased more than 50 percent compared to last year’s Black Friday week.” Microsoft reports that more than 14 million people played on Xbox Live worldwide on Sunday, “racking up more than 72 million hours of use in just one day.”
