According to the latest rumours freshly picked from the grapevine, the next-generation Xbox - whatever it turns out to be named - has now entered the beta phase in its development. The rumour springs from the same source that outed the prototype Kinect 2 interface image in August.
The source states that "Xbox 3" is officially in beta, and furthermore developers are awaiting the arrival of dev kits.
"Xbox 3 is officially Beta, congrats," Twitter user SuperDAE wrote in a since deleted tweet captured by Gamechup. "Awaiting kits arrival to door."
SuperDAE's past rumours have seen the leaking of a Kinect 2 image, with developers close to The Verge claiming that said visual representation of Kinect 2's display were reportedly authentic, so although this latest rumour seems somewhat pinch of salt-worthy, it could have a grain of legitimacy.
Other recent rumours note that the next-gen Xbox is currently under development with the codename 'Kryptos', and a reveal could be planned for a dedicated Microsoft event mooted for 2013. All this remains to be seen, of course.
