Last night Microsoft director of programming Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb posted a live countdown on his blog, pointing to E3 2013.
Which is unusual, right? Countdowns to E3 are not something platform holders usually get involved with. E3 is just E3 and that’s it. No fuss.
But E3 is quite a big deal if you’re announcing a new console though. E3 is huge if you intend on unveiling the Xbox 720 (or whatever it's called), and that’s what is widely believed to be happening.
For months outlets have been suggesting that Microsoft will kick off the next-gen at E3 this year and the countdown, accompanied by the tease “and it’s on...” is the nearest we’ve had to confirmation.
So be excited! 158 days to go.
