  • Kinect-Like Motion Tracking Coming to ASUS PCs

Leap Motion technology coming to laptops and all-in-one PCs.

Leap Motion, a Kinect-like gesture- and motion-tracking sensing solution, will soon be making its way into ASUS PCs. Later this year, ASUS will integrate Leap Motion's sensors and software into a range of all-in-one desktop PCs and high-end notebooks, Engadget reports. The technology will allow users to control the Windows 8-based machines with a wave of the hand and unique gestures. The company says that its 3-D motion control technology offers incredible precision, sensing movements to "1/100th millimeter smaller than the tip of a pin" from all 10 fingers simultaneously at 290 frames-per-second within a 150-degree field of view.

Pricing and release information is unknown, but ASUS promises the first Leap Motion-enabled PCs will ship sometime later this year.
