Xbox One sales hit 2 million mark

Microsoft announced this morning the Xbox One surpassed the 2 million mark for global sales, 18 days after the console launched in 13 markets on November 22. The figure is stipulated as "sell-through," so it represents sales to customers rather than shipments.

"We continue to be humbled and overwhelmed by the positive response from our fans," Xbox Corporate VP of Strategy and Marketing Yusuf Mehdi said in a statement. "We are thrilled to see sales of Xbox One on a record-setting pace, with over 2 million Xbox One consoles in homes around the world. Demand is exceeding supply in our 13 launch markets and Xbox One is sold out at most retailers. We're also particularly excited to see consumers engaging in a wide range of games and entertainment experiences on the platform, with more than 1 million paid transactions on Xbox Live to date."

For all the numbers Microsoft is trotting out, including 39 million achievements and 595 million GamerScore points notched to date, more significant is that the Xbox One is close to the coattails of the PS4. Sony's console hit the 2 million milestone - 2.1 million to be specific - last week, but is out in significantly more European markets than the Xbox One.

i am pretty annoyed with both the ps4 & xbox one... they are supposed to be next gen consoles, but how come everything i see looks like ps3 & xbox 360?

The PS4 to me does look a lot like the PS3 I find it more of a upgrade but not by much

The Xbox One looks to be improved over the 360 tho

Were u saw fifa, in some youtube videos? Plus fifa is not really a game with super graphics, never was. Next gen version is so much better imo.

Ps4 not improved, but xbox is lol? Xboxone is nearly the same as ps4. They say ps4 is even stronger, for example bf4 looks better and play better at ps4.

Trust me I played 45 hours of bf4 in ps3

And got my PS4 two days ago and the difference is NIGHT AND DAY.

It dont matter what the outside looks like its what it performs like and you can tell you are in a new generation of gaming as far as graphics and everything else goes.

Ok heres my view why i got Sony PS4.


I first started with xbox 360 went through two of them, then at the end back in 2012 got a ps3 so i've had both.


I am not interested in the apps and the kinect feature on the xbox. I don't feel like paying 100 dollars more for a feature I don't want. Just like I probably won't buy the ps4 camera.


I have the apps i need on ps4 which is mainly just netflix. I have a smart phone, and a gaming rig. I don't need a console to watch tv on, I only turn my console on to game, or watch stuff on netflix that isn't on tv.


I don't like talking motion sensor stuff etc with gaming, I guess i'm old school even though i'm only 23.


The Xbox does look really nice though, but I feel like I would be paying a premium for features that I don't want, nor would I use. Simple as that.

Its just ppl expecting too much. They expect its the same difference from analog to HD, which is not possible.

Honestly I don't know what people are expecting, we've reached a point in video game technology theres only so much they can do.

And if you play xbox 360/ps3 version of a game example bf4 and then play on new console you can tell a world of difference all im saying.

And if you say from just looking at the outside well the ps4 looks similar to the ps3 not that different thats a dumb comment all that matters is whats inside the console.
