The point that verses kick it goes from a 9 (chorus) to a 6-. If you fix it while the verses kick in, u got yourself a classic.

i did that so the hook would stand out a bit more than the verses.
if i fix it i think the hook wouldnt have the same effectiveness

Your 100% right in having a chorus that out-stands and the need to out-stand. But in my opinion it falls off too much on the verses...I am not saying u should adjust the verses on the same level as the chorus.
