His remixes are cool but his beats dont have that westcoast sound most of the time.

I was blown away when Pac said "Facebook" and "Instagram" in the first video (0:47).

Technically it's amazing what he creates out of Pac's vocals. But the beats are mostly shit. And he reduces Pac to the same brainless songs that have no content but catchy hooks and party beats like today

thats what I dont get about these nostalgic assholes. they complain about modern rap then they turn around and make 2pac pop remixes of the exact same shit they bitch about modern rappers doing. straight weirdos dont know what they want

i don't really like the beats chop up uses all the time, but i really appreciate the craft and patience he puts into his mixes when it comes to painstakingly doing what he does with the vocals, because one thing is making pac say a word he has never said in his life or recorded, and the other is making it sound as clean as he manages to get it, but sometimes it indeed can sound too forced but thats the nature of it like when you expect a CG/CPU acapella to not sound like a studio pella and to have some artefacts because it had to go through an unnatural process of manipulation to even get to that state.

so i indeed take my hats off to chop up, it's not just simply cropping and merging sounds, having to get both sounds to be of the similar quality/recording for a single word while having to cherry pick potential sounds to find what is compatible and what is not when combining sounds is a whole other task in itself, the adlib of one of the words you are chopping up to use that sound towards the word-sentence you are creating is a make or break if that rhyme that he is building is even going to work and sound authentic. chop up is not the first to do this, but he is the first to do it this well and be this consistent with it making it sound almost semi-organic. i have done it myself before, and i have seen only a few people do the chopping, but that is with creating a hook or just a few minor word changes, but not to the level that dj chop up is doing it at-at all creating verses. honestly i just wish he would pick better beats with the same love he gives his vocal cutting gift. and on top of that having better concepts of songs that he is making (not just be so focused on "club bangers" or these cheap knock-off west coast type of beats, in my opinion i think that dj chop up is eastern european so i do think that also reflects his taste on the instrumentals he uses, but i might be wrong but it's just a hunch.)

but i do feel at the end of the day he maybe feels he needs to get something like a small minor reward from the mixes he does with all the effort he puts in. which is why he does commercial songs to get those views along with a balance of appreciation for the art of what he does. because it indeed has a shock value alone to hear 2pac say the year we are currently living in after 20+ years later after his death.

but regardless even if i hate the modern songs, and even the commercial songs from early 2000 that he uses to make a pac spin off version of those tracks, i dig it from the artistic aspect. such as the remixes like breathe that he did, the attention to detail as a digital surgeon for sound waves that he has taken to do that rather than just being a "dj" mixer who slaps on an acapella onto an instrumental and calls it a day, with not even the slightest attempt of bringing a deeper artistic dimensional element like a different chorus into the song (i am not shitting on anyone who does that because i understand the other side, that it's good to keep it genuine and keeping the vocals untouched without being altered, but to be fair we have also violated that line of thought in the first place by attempting to make a remix in the first place, but obviously there are levels-in gradient towards how much something is altered and compromised.)

dj chop up is living the future

i just realised that more videos have been released to do with this subject

i'll be checking it out later i need to head off gentlemen

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
