A YouTuber last weekend caught my attention by asking me about doing a remake for "Pain". I Love that song, but what's crazy to me is that the "Movie Version" (the version with the drums sampled from "Sing A Simple Song" by Sly & The Family Stone) doesn't have an instrumental. I've been working on a remix/remake for it and i thought to myself "What was the release date for this song?" March 22, 1994 on the "Above The Rim" soundtrack (🤔 man I was only 12 back then.) Well "Pain" turned 25 earlier this year.🎂 I'm still working on my version, so if anyone else here has done it already I would love to hear it to celebrate one of the 2Pac's greatest songs. (Stretch was viscous on the 2nd verse and the "Don't get to close because you might get shot" line on the hook)

I was making a mixtape (literally on cassette) just over a week ago. The theme was thug life vol 2. While I was doing it for some reason i decided to Wikipedia the release date of thug life volume 1. Turns out I was making this thug life vol 2 personal mixtape on the anniversary. It tripped me out. Then because of that I decided to make it public. I’ve posted it on the forum. The thread hasn’t had a reply and I don’t know why? it seems nobody gives a fuck about the birthday of one of the baddest albums to ever grace music...Period!

[MENTION=16810]murdaonyou That's crazy ironic about the timing of when you were making a mixtape. As far as your post, did u post it here in the "Remix" section? If so how long ago was it. I haven't seen it, but i'll check it out if you're able to put a link here. As far as the "Thug Life" (Volume 1) album, I bought a copy many years ago, but yrs after it's release. My main issue with that album is "Runnin' From The Police" wasn't on it. (I read somewhere long ago that it was supposed to be.) I even felt "Pain" should've been on it too since "Pour Out A Little Liquor" was on there.

The absence of runnin is an issue for me too. Which is why I’m looking for a copy of the promo cassette version which has runnin in place of stay true
