fanmade remixes in flac/wav format

I don't get why some of you guys are rendering their crappy remixes in flac or wav format.
I mean, are you completely retarded?

You use a 192 kb/s acapella and maybe a 320 kb/s beat from the internet and you expect rendering your remix as a flac will improve the quality?


I can only speak for myself. I will ignore any fanmade remix rendered in flac or wav format. No matter how big the name of the remixer is.

probably because .wav is the default format in windows. if you open an mp3 it is uncompressed to this format. to prevent further loss of quality, you save it as a .wav, or even better .flac
which is lossless compression.

did you make the blindtest though and compared the wav or flac to the mp3? you won't hear any difference.

tip from myself: i rendered my mixes as a wav and used a good wav to mp3 converter (such as pulse wav to mp3) and received a better result than rendering mp3. there is no sound difference, you should try it.

I'm confused as to why you're justifying this when you post threads of your DIY's on youtube, with a "copy and paste" url for download, you're contradicting yourself.

While you have a point in regards to quality if the source material is lossy, that’s not true across the board as we have a ton of lossless quality acapellas and instrumentals available to use. So I do t think it’s fair to write off ALL remixes because some do this.

Also, if you make a remix with lossy files and and mix those down to a lossy format, you’re further degrading the quality (although I admit it would be hard to tell the difference). Bouncing to a lossless format ensures there is no further quality loss.

But in the end I’m just confused as to why this is an issue. They are not degrading the quality by providing it in WAV, and you can convert yourself to a lossy format if you desire. Is your data not unlimited on your home internet? I could understand that.

well the point is i got two arguments
1. wav/flac is bigger in file size and space on every device is limited
2. bigger file sizes cause more/bigger servers needed cause climate change
(3. downloading/streaming might take longer as your device has to work more)

the other side got 0 arguments, but these days ... to what extent does an argument count when you can also have an opinion?

there is not major difference for there to be an issue either way.

if someone wants to change the flac file and reduce it size, they easily can.

I didn't want to offend or attack anybody, just wanted to point out my opinion.

I can't force anything on anyone but it's my right to say that I won't support download fanmade remixes in flac or wav format. Everything said with that.

Sorry if anybody felt offended or attacked, that wasn't my purpose.
