Shout out to [MENTION=943]MrMind for the acapella with the explicit portions added back in. Heres a preview
Smile (OGVibe/Remix)
I'll post it there as well
Also, that chorus never really fit well with many remixes, honestly think it'd sound better with no chorus, or something different

This morning (or late night rather lol... it's 4:32 am where I'm at while writing this) I was going through a bunch of old files with various premixes for my OG Vibes/Remixes as I like to do from time to time and started listening to one of a few early drafts for "Smile". I mentioned it in a post by FreeEmAll
This particular mix has a pitched up version of a beat I was working on for my homeboy. (minus the Hall & Oates "Sarah Smile" sample for his song, but added in while testing it with the "Smile" acapella)
I've seen other people do this, but I haven't learned how to copy and paste what I wrote from other thread post, so I'll just sorta rewrite what I wrote there. What I mentioned there was that when me and my homeboy was listening to his song we both agreed that the beat I gave him, which was a remake of a beat I made on my PS1, sounds like it could be good for a 2Pac mix. Definitely so since it was loosely based off of "How Long Will They Mourn Me" and One Way's "Don't Stop Ever Loving Me". I first tested it out with a loop of my homeboy's song sped up to match the tempo and key of "Smile" with "Smile's" acapella using a DJ turntable app on my phone, then when I got home I tested the beat out with just the 1st verse and hook from the "Smile" acapella on Pro Tools and it fit nicely. When I decided to go ahead and make a full OG Vibe for "Smile" I made some slight changes to the beat and added some recreated elements from the version on Scarface's "Untouchable" album to differentiate it from what I was making for my homeboy just in case he decided to put his song out. (He's still working on his album and I'm not sure if he decided to cut that song from it) I like what I did for the OG Vibe I put out, but honestly I kinda feel had I have added the Scarface elements to this version it would've been a more poignant mix. Just thought I'd share this for a lil' view of what was left on the "cutting room floor".
"Smile" (Wizzattz OG Vibe 2nd Premix Draft)
Interpolation of:
"Don't Stop" by One Way
and
"How Long Will They Mourn Me" by Thug Life
*I'ma get at my homey to see if he's cool wit me posting that "turntable mix"/1st Premix I mentioned, cuz it has his hook vocals slightly muffled on that version.Last edited by kool81; 03-23-2021, 12:02 PM.

I really dig what you're doing with these mixes. Keep it up, they're sounding really crisp and dope.
If you or anyone else is interested this was my attempt at it a good number of years ago. Hope you enjoy.
