I'm trying not to rush this one cuz I know how much "Hail Mary" means to us all. I kinda feel the changes that I have made so far is a bit of "Blasphemy" (lol pun intended) seriously though, even the smallest changes to Hail Mary could come off as "too much" cuz its a very simplistic yet, very compelling beat with Pac's vocals the way it is originally.

Well to be honest, when I first started working on it and posted the 1st draft even I felt a bit weird about it as well. I figure some have mixed feelings about it as in your case, but then there are those who like it and want the finished mix. So I'm finishing this mix for those who want me to finish it. Perhaps later in the future I'll attempt to do a different mix.

I feel you, it sounds good, but a beatmaker/producer/remixer/etc. want to get attention to what they made, however at the same time, the vocals should be on the foreground. A band is only so good as their lead, no matter how good a guitar/drum player or whatever player is, feel me?

Well here's the thing, it's a DIY pella that i'm working with. Yes there are times a beatmaker/producer/dj can pull off some amazing results/mixes with them, but it's not gonna be as perfect as using a "studio pella", so it's kind of a 50/50 chance the vocal is gonna blend well with a remake or remix beat. Another thing, Hail Mary's vocals were somewhat mixed in an odd way (for Pac's at least) where most of the main vocal is panned about 30 to 50% to the right and some of them on the left, so there is not much I can do about it unless i made the vocals mono to where they would be front and center in the mix.

Yeah, I meant more that your contribution to the song overtakes his rapping, I understand about the pella Q, I mean more that the music becomes a thing of it's own and it's a bit too much.. I can see during a break, but when he's rapping and the music is saying more than the rapper, then it's out of balance to me. That being said: I do see this as a good modern approach to this classic and I think 'Pac would like it.

Lol, well I'm not sure I'll have it ready during this weekend, but who knows. It all depends on inspiration. Originally and ven now it was something that I've had intentions on finishing, but when first started testing out these alternate melodies it was kind of inspired by a conversation I had with a friend of mine that said that 2Pac's vocals is more like an instrument for the beat to Hail Mary cuz once its removed, the beat is simple. So I thought how would it be if Hail Mary had more elaborate instrumentation using those same instruments? (Except the faint choir sound lol)
