  • Remix Appreciation Thread

To say the 2pac remix market is over saturated would be a huge understatement, but through the dirt & rubble there are diamonds to be found.

I would like to use this thread as a way of bringing light & appreciation to remixes we hold in high regard. Let me start.

Here are my favourite 2pac remixes:

    1. R U Still Down (Ft. Jon B) - Remixed Produced & Created By Phonkey Dee

I don't have an order, except for this one, that i consider my favourite 2pac remix ever, i listen to it like it's a real official song. The MJ sample just elevates the song. Phonkey D took a nice simple track and added so much more emotion to it.

    2. Pain in my Heart [4Thugno Mix]

This remix has such a beautiful Sting sample. I would love to see it redone with a better quality acapella, but as a concept this remix really works.

    3. California Dreamin' Remix by D-Ace

The vibe create in this remix made me feel so happy with life. There are dozens of D-Ace remixes i could have chosen to pick. If there is anyone i wish i could give Pac's studio acapellas to, it would be him.

    4. Ready To Rumble - Created by Klockwork

I can't find this on youtube, but this remix is insane. The energy, the delivery, the beat - it all works so beautifully.

There are a ton more, but i thought id just get the ball rolling. Id love to see what you guys choose as your favorites.

Death Around The Corner by Scottzilla

There isn't a youtube video for it to embed it here, but that mix he did made me like it more than the original album version

2pac ft Bone Thugs - Don't stop the music (DJ Critikal)
Vocaroo is a quick and easy way to share voice messages over the interwebs.

I legit feel like this could of been a legit collab with pac and bone thugs

2pac - hold on be strong (DJ Critikal)

I feel this mellow approach to hold on be strong instead of the boom bap og style.

musza mil and makaveli - political_soldiers

I love the way pac fits this instrumental on some activist vibe. i feel the instrumental really matches his energy.

            2pac - Oppressive life (DJ Choo) [MENTION=16075]oicyu8chu

Again i like the mellow touch that choo gave to this in comparison to the og, i find it allows the emotion of the lyrics and topic he is tackling translate better than the reggae beat on the og.

2pac - Sunny Day (Dj One)

this vibe just gives me that hot summer type feeling.

            2pac - Kraziest (DJ Scholar) [MENTION=14605]MoneyTalks

Just a classic. i like how the beat made the nothing to lose lyrics sound more gritty.

              Great thread.
Agreed, lol, the market for 2Pac remixes is over saturated to say the least- especially 10-15 years ago.

IMO, out of every 100 fan made remixes- 25 are interesting, 10 are well done, but only 1 has "replay value". Due to the 1000's of 2Pac mixes, I am appreciative of the large collection of solid remixes from a wide variety of skilled mixers I have managed to collect.

Here's one of my favourites. I don't know why- the lyrics and the instrumental kinda clash, but for whatever reason, 12 years later, I can still bump this track. Perhaps because at the time, this was the only version of Still Ballin' I had ever heard- "First to Market" so to speak.

Inspired by [MENTION=1348]Creation I've decided to select 5 mixes as well
                            It Hurts the Most (D-Ace)
D-Ace is one of my favorite mixers out there, I could've selected so many mixes. Sometimes this got stuck in mind in an endless loop haha

                            Initiated (Devil Man)
The vibe on this one is so on point. Can't remember the countless bus trips that I took listening to this. Feels like the type of mix that Pac would release

This Life I lead (DJ Cvince)
I love how the beat matches Pac voice in this mix. Even tho the ad-libs don't match they still sound dope. Saying what's up Kurupt to Kastro haha

How Do U Want It (DJ LV)
I love this mix to death. Lars did a phenomenal job, I can play this all day long. For real.

Watch Ya Mouth (Master C aka [MENTION=1348]Creation)
That's exactly how powerful this song should sound. I worked out a lot lis
