I believe they thought the song had huge potential but it was difficult to finish it, thus the many mixdowns. I always missed a bassline, but how could a bassline sound like? They couldn’t come up with a good melody too. They added this weird jazzy bass guitar which sounds stupid imo lol. I could imagine that’s the reason they let this song drop

I actually don't mind the bassline in the alternate version, just thought it was super odd at first that they used an acoustic bass. Gonna add it to my remake and update it with [MENTION=16672]kool81

Yeah I think that too, probably a lead single/mainstream type song for Thug Life Vol 1 like Pac wanted on S4MN with 'I Get Around', my guess is Prince declined the use of the sample.
