To Live & Die in L.A. (Guitar Enhance Mix)

I was going through an old folder of unsorted files and came across this mix I did years ago. File last modified 2006. I think Dante put this on one of his OGV albums.

It's a pretty basic mix/idea. I stumbled across the fact that I could isolate the guitars using a channel mixer in Adobe Audition. Much like you make CPU acapellas, I did the same for the guitars. Then I bounced that and mixed it with the original track. Some other elements besides the guitars remain, so they serve to make the whole mix sound a little more ambient or spacious, with a little more high end. This is really old shit, I could probably re-do it a lot better if I set my mind to it, but I caught myself thinking this actually sounded pretty okay.

Basically, I just love the guitars in this track. Hope you enjoy it!

So right after I posted, I decided I'm gonna re-do this some day soon.

I didn't do a lot to mix the two "layers" together other than compensating volume adjustments to blend them. There's a lot more signal processing I could do to make the guitars stand out even more, without crowding the rest of the mix with as much high end.

More subtle, you might need to compare back to back to hear the difference. But it also sounds way better now, imo
