Working on something for the tape

Unfortunately my External Harddrive stopped working yesterday the piece of shit is broken, I brought it to a store and they said id need 2 send it 2 some special company if I wanted 2 get my files back but the prices could be really high.

Well im not gonna do that, I lost all my samples, drums, vsts and music. I still have my project files but I cant load up projects without the samples, vsts etc lol. Ill wait until I can buy a new computer with a bigger internal harddrive and then start re-downloading my plugins and try 2 find the samples n shit or just re-do most of it. I really wanted 2 release this mixtape on september 13th but I think that wont be possible right now but who knows. If not then it will probably be around christmas time.

Sorry about this, theres still time 2 send mixes though.

Got a new computer, need 2 re-dl vsts, drums, samples and re-do all the mixes. It wont be out on september 13th, Ill probably release it on december 31.

Has your external hard drive died completely, can you hear it spin up/down at all ? Maybe try taking it out of it's external enclosure and connecting it to an internal sata cable inside your computer just to make sure. I had an internal hard disk drive I thought died and stored it away for several months yet recently I tried it in my external enclosure and it's been working ever since. I've suffered quite a few drive failures and it's one of the worst feelings that I now have a total of 5 hdd. 2x 2TB Internal, 1x2TB External and 2x2TB External Network Attached Storage Device (configured in Raid 1 Mirror).

I use a Solid State Drive to host my operating system then two internals hard disk drives to archive My Music, Video & Picture files also use a file synchronization software called GoodSync which enables me to synch & update all of my files across all hard drives so if one or two disks fails I still have all my files on the others. I use disk imagining software (Acronis) and System Restore (Faronics Deep Freeze) to help protect and keep my operating system up at all times. You should check some of it out or hit me up for transfers.. What else did you lose from your external ?
