  • New Forum Tape?? Ideas ppl..

BELOW I'VE INCLUDED THE MSG IVE SENT TO PEOPLE ON WHERE THE TAPE IS GOING. PUT IT AS A QUOTE. BELOW THAT IS THE ORIGINAL THREAD DISCUSSION

Just putting it out there I'm think the tape should be a 2cd tape (13-18 tracks per cd)...

cd 1- OG Vibes/Reystled Mixes/New Productions.. Kind of like beats which sample 2pac.. or a NEW restyled 2pac instrumental

cd2 - switchups/blends/remixes. Not necessarily a plain switch up. I think we all know thats not good enough, but like blacpain was suggesting.. switch ups with some old school hiphop tracks etc. Also 2pac.. but needs to be something special, because a general switchup isn't really creative.

Umm I'm thinking of getting a little team together to do this! Someone to decide on mixes. Someone to master the mix if needed thuglife or Papa for a cover... or maybe both if it ends up being 2cd.?. A cover each..

A small group working on a certain type of mixes.. All collaborating and talking about mixes on AIM or MSN or through gmail or PM here. So maybe send me your email and ill communicate through there at times.

For now if you have a mix send it to me. I'm Depending on the mixes I get will depend on how the tape is put together. Mainly want to aim for 1 cd of OG Restyled Mixes etc.

If you could each suggest a title for the tape please send it in your reply.

I'm thinking have a tape name, then each CD name based on its theme...

so like 2Pac Forum Presents "Til My Dying Day" a Tupac mixtape
or 2Pac Forum Presents "2K14 Mix Klazzics"... what came to mind that made sence.

CD1 could be titled - The Rebirth (Hence being a restyled/re-sampled 2pac mixes with new production maintaining 2pac style/sample)
CD2 could be titled- Forever Ballin' (Mixes/Blends using oldschool hiphop tracks etc. Bay Area, Death Row, West Coast, Old School New York Style beats).

I'm happy receiving mixes for now... and if i do a mix i do ill send to others to decide but yeah... this sound good people?

No date set for now.. want to make sure I get everything 100 percent.. but yeah

if you want to share an opinion or not sure where this is heading or whatnot just check the forum thread about the tape idea: http://www.2pac-forum.com/showthread.php?t=84427

Well guys had a small discussion with [MENTION=2109]underdog about me and him possibly working on a switchups/restyled mixes tape.. and well the convo led to me being on the idea but he is more than happy to help with things like pellas etc.

Thought i'd post it and put it for all the fans and forum djs to leave their comment. I think it would be great to take things back and really work on something like a restyled mixtape, where production on instrumentals and retsyling beats would be amazing. Along with some switchups, og vibes, blends, and other productions...

I've added a poll for people to simply vote yes or no. Going to tag some of the djs and people I would love on this. even with stuff like editing.. ideas, advice on mixes etc... Also new members who are mixing are welcome. I'm always looking to mix with new people

well i would like to hear kind of tape with just mixes/switchups of straight classic (old school) beats (no matter which coast) from 91 to 94 era.
like Public Enemy, Showbiz & A.G., Comptons Most Wanted, N.W.A., Geto Boys, Big Mello, Brand Nubian, EPMD, King T, Ice-T, AMG, Too $hort etc. etc.

I'm down for new productions. I hope to hear some fresh good instrumentals, not the same stuff all the time.
You got to deal with me on a whole new level

The last idea/project i had was to use a mix of beats like [MENTION=2030]blacpain said. I ripped few from vinyls & cds but never made mixes, lack of motivation. The main idea was to keep the only Pac and his og featuring for switchups and for blends to use the original rapper for one verse and add 2 Pac verses.

Funny thing is that i gave [MENTION=747]SCORPION a sample with instrumentals i ripped few hours ago.

The only way i could help is by ripping stuff if y'all need

imo the tape gotta follow a concept either you go the new production style (im not down) or you go the 2pac old production style (& im down)
a tape including all different types can be a good tape but imo cant be an outstanding tape

id go with a tape including og vibes, switchups & remixes (but only remixes that are 2pac style, not necessarily oldschool but necessarily in the style of 2pac with good drums and good sounds (no dirty south bullshit or fucked up electronic sounds)

I'm down with BP! plus some Bay flavor with some dope bay producers, i got a ton of instrumentals! get some hard hitting drums to lace it up.

                This sort of flavor!

and yeah the mixtape needs to flow like Kdots GKMC, themed from start to finish.

I'm down to submit a mix or 2 but I wouldn't do a switch up using a Pac beat because that doesn't give the mix any character, I'd do a switch up with a sample from another Pac song but restyled, either that or OG vibe feelings

@Pain, I need some of your nice mo town music for samples, like the one we were talking about in PM

Going off what mainly [MENTION=2030]blacpain [MENTION=2072]Klockwork have said I think everyone is on these conclusions.

Just putting it out there I'm this a 2cd tape (13-18 tracks per cd)...

cd 1- Reystled Mixes/New Productions.. Kind of like beats which sample 2pac.. or a NEW restyled 2pac instrumental

Plus that's what I'm getting from the poll so far. Oh and [MENTION=244]endofdayz would be good on a project like this. with ideas, feedback etc.

Umm I'm thinking of getting a little team together to do this! Someone to decide on mixes. Someone to master the mix if needed [MENTION=899]thuglife or @Papa for a cover... or maybe both if it ends up being 2cd.?.

A small group working on a certain type of mixes.. All collaborating and talking about mixes on AIM or MSN or through gmail or PM here.

I suggested [MENTION=2109]underdog help with deciding mixes as the discussion was with him etc.. and/or maybe [MENTION=3662]MCNewYork71 and [MENTION=999]Kevin who is a clear trusted member.

Name suggestions feel free to post here....

I'm thinking have a tape name, then each CD name based on its theme...

CD1 could be titled - Reborn (Hence being a restyled/re-sampled 2pac mixes with new production maintaining 2pac style/sample)

OG Enhancements done properly are the best. That is done right. Death Row style funky P-Funk G-Funk style samples. With polish. DJ Cvince has been known to have done these before and very well may i add. So pop a few Cvince beats on regardless. Then yeah some new production would also be good. Some new G-Funk modern beats which are rarer and rarer these days. But are still around. So some MODERN G-Funk and OG Enhancements. A combination of the two would be my ideal mixtape.

I've already been working on a new project, got some pretty nice things in the works like none done before

Not sure what to call it, I guess I'm polishing up OG's that could use some work. Adding nice elements like guitar, bass, etc it'll be like how we heard some AEOM tracks before they were finished, you really notice how "plain" they are before they were finished. There's a lot of OG's that could use polished up, BREATH SOME LIFE INTO THEM!

I can probably donate a track to the tape, I'm about 4 tracks into it so far, going to be about 14 tracks. All the DR era, some having the Makaveli vibe to them, hence the guitars like Me and My Girlfriend, etc.

I predict it'll be a hit, so I'd like to get some attention/advertising on it, so I'll gladly contribute a track to this NM tape.
