Reason for sure. I've never used FL studio or any others, my friend is a Reason professional so I could catch his techniques a few years ago.. now I wouldn't use anything else. I can use it for both sampling and original beats, so I'm happy with it. I also use Audacity sometimes.

Software: Custom written dispatch based cluster architecture. Interface controller node manages resources of the other nodes and audio is either streamed across network connection or through a solid state mixer(modified Digidesign 1622 IO, DAC/ADC bit width expanded). Everything synthesized live and cluster dynamically expandable.

                              Hardware nodes: 6x AMD E-450 x86 nettops, 4x Spartan-6 FPGAs, 5x Texas Instruments TMS320c6748 dedicated DSP/ARM
Hardware interface: A holy crap hack job of knobs, linear slides, touchscreens and shitty soldering.

Everything still under development and constant change/breakage.
