  • I'm demotivated by this pc-software shit. I want to work with hardware.

I use to work with hardware samplers and limiters back in my college days at the big studio. But since I'm only working in my home studio now Im really sick of tired staring at the god damn pc screen while mouse-click these software EQ's and limiters, I want to move to hardware, tell me what are good affordable limiters, EQ's and any needed hardware to actually make a warm and natural mix. I actually wanna twist on buttons like nipples, not pain in the ass mouseclicks.

      Whats your budget ?

I need more info, whats your current setup, what gear you have now, what audio interface, monitors, and so on.

Professional software sounds better then CHEAP hardware, so dont count on gear thats in 200-800 eur range if you want to improve sonic quality and work-flow.

My current setup: Yamaha n12 with build in audio interface (has some nice effects, but I dont wanna route my mixes all the time back and forth to use them), KRK 6 monitors, extra pair of Yamaha monitors, dont know wich type tho, got to look it up, Cubase 4 (yes I actually bought it, not downloaded it), Fruity Loops 9.5, Yamaha keyboard, Korg drumpad, Korg vocoder. Ohyeah I still rock a Behringer B1 mic from 10 years ago. thats what I work with at home.

With that budget you cant move away from mixing without using software. you could buy better audio interface (since yamaha integrated mixer/interface quality is joke ) at least but that wouldn't change your work flow, it will only improve AD/DA conversion and monitoring quality.

you need 5000+ eur minimum, for compact analog mixing console, eqs, compressors, and better monitors (they are very important).
