  • Who Do You Believe In Studio Acapella Reverb Question!

Is there a way to override the reverb on the pella so it is just the vocals with no effects? I do not like the default reverb that it has.

You can add Gate compression, it will remove the tail of delay and mask it lil bit.

        Waves SSL Channel Strip.

Select "Fast Attack" (slide it to left ), turn release knob to fastest setting (between .1 and .15) , range between 10 and 20, and play with threshold for best result.

            Edit: download link: http://www.zshare.net/audio/88285530a7f2d10f/ http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MF8OMCUR

Also, heres the is settings i used

its almost impossible to completely remove delay or reverb without sacrificing the dynamics and transient response of a instrument or vocal in this case. and its totally unprofessional that they leaved delay on acapella but what can u do...
theres some fluttering going on due to gate compression,, but it wont be noticed when pella gets placed on top of beat, you can also add your own revreb, with bigger pre-delay to mask fluttering.

never use same settings on different songs

Thanks man, I hate when acapellas have some effects because it may not sound right on some projects. I will try your fix and also try a reverb just to see how it sounds.
