Its because you have latency on your audio card, having other recording software wont make a difference.
download ASIO4all driver and use its inputs/outputs drivers for recording and monitoring.

              for newbies
              M-Audio 2496
or if you can spend more: http://www.google.com/products/catal...d=0CFUQ8wIwAA#

              C , download this http://tippach.business.t-online.de/...10_English.exe
install fl studio, go to options, select driver: ASIO4ALL,
then record audio inside fl studio, since audacity cant use asio4all driver.

or if you really want to record with audacity, go to preferences, and lower the latency buffer size to 100 or less. see what works best.

                  Hey whats up
Emu 0404 is alternative to M-Audio 2496, its in the same class, i personally prefer the M-Audio stuff, but either one will be good entry level choice.
M-Audio Fast Track Pro is kinda like external M-Audio 2496, with lil' bit higher ad/da converters, and with two microphone preamps, would pick it over both Emu and 2496
But real winner here is Focusrite Saffire 24, however i dint tested this exact model, but one of their bigger-version from same Saffire family, money-quality ratio is absolutely the best, under 800$ you cant better audio interface.

                    Hello

Well i heard/read/touched emu 0404 is very similar to m-audio fast track pro ( i forget to mention e-mu 404 usb my bad sry)

I know what these bad boys have inside, but my question was more about testing some stuff around and checking some differences from experienced ears.
I read some tests etc online but i was asking in studio etc they didn't know much about it. Online stuff is pretty random. Some ppl are happy for emu some for m-audio. I need people who worked with that stuff to tell me more =). Focusrite Saffire 24 is smth like E-Mu 404 USB but i heard saffire have better quality in preamps and emu have limiter +5dB

                    Here is some online tests:

                    E-MU 0404 USB

                    Focusrite Saffire

Hey again, everything in that price range is pretty much similar,
none of those interfaces in 200-400 price range have serious mic pres, that would make night/day difference, but they are usable.

My recommendation for newer interfaces you should consider:
                      M-Audio ProFire 610
                      TC electronic Impact Twin
                      Focusrite Saffire 24 dsp

these 3 are top in their price range.

I'm Assuming u don't have m-audio stuff so pro tools goes away. So in that case Cakewalk Sonar should be better option then fl studio my friends.
