digidesign hardware is not needed anymore in order to run Pro Tools, its native, can work even with integrated audio card.

Fl studio is not good for recording and editing, but its compatible with integrated pc audio card / asio4 all drivers, but there wont be problem using those drivers with any other daw.
so try one of these daws:
    Reaper
    Cubase,
    Personus Studio One...

use lowest buffer size possible without starting to overload cpu..

Try selecting primary sound driver, with buffer lenght set to 64 samples, or 128

Come on, don't record vocals in fl lol. You are wasting your time there. Nikola i am surprised u are tryin to help him recording in FL. You should be ashamed. Help him, but lets make that easy for him. This program is pointless when comes to recording vocals. Pro Tools Or Sonar etc. Much easier, more u can see. FL will be pain in the ass. Pro Tools, sonar they all are compatible with asio4 all drivers and when u want to record something its like clicking R on qwerty keyboard and u are good to go when u got all things already setup.
              Cheers

thats not going to be easy if u want "the newest stuff"
                  Cakewalk Sonar X1
                  Pro Tools 9
Thats the new hot 2 DAWs best on the market. If u want some stuff just to make it happend u can use even Cakewalk Sonar 6. I was working with that long time. ( why? bcoz i can lol )
Here is some torrent file for cakewalk sonar 7
                  http://torrents.thepiratebay.org/483...59.TPB.torrent
Why this? Bcoz i DL that before and its working fine. Its ISO file. Burn to DVD and u are almost good to go. Now u need some keys I don't know if i can write that here so i will pm you with some info about it

P.S Feel free to search net about newest stuff, it's always good to be up to date. Some innovations may help you at work. Your choice. I'm sure sonar will make your recording sessions easier then ever =)

Its not what u use, its how You use it.
You made it look like i insisted on using FL, but it was first thing that came to my mind because its 100% compatible with non-asio drivers/integrated audio cards. I agree, its far away from being ideal for audio editing.
Any DAW will be great, theres no difference in "sound quality" as i see You are all hyped about newest DAWs, theres only difference in workflow. its personal preference what he will use, I dont think he needs multiple GB DAW with huge sample library to do simple vocal recording without big latency.
Common sense that they all support ASIO, but does his soundcard support ASIO in first place?

ASIO4ALL is very quick. Use that on Acid Pro or Fruity Loops you should be fine.
