I understand what you saying. But newest DAWs usually tends to be buggy and hard to get online, so no need to jump on bandwaggon as soon as something gets released.
One of reasons why i dint instantly upgrade to Pro Tools 9 when it got released back in november 2010 is because there were lots of incompatibility with some plugins and audio interfaces . Also Im person who mixes analog out-of-box 95% of time so i dont need latest super fancy plugins and editing capabilities , im treating my DAW just like multitrack recorder, but thats just me and workflow i prefer.

When i said that you are all hyped, it wasnt to offend u, but You said i should be ashamed for recommending him simple software for recording ? imo i think u are forcing your own personal preferences to MasterC who is a beginner in audio world, Sonar is not user friendly DAW especially for beginners and everyone will agree with me about this.
He needs simple DAW, Reaper or Cubase/Neundo are perfect choice, because you dont have to download multi GB package with tons of sample library plugins to do simple vocal recording. he doesn't need that ? right?

p.s. If MasterC cant get Cubase up and working, Reaper 3.75 is another DAW to consider http://www.filestube.com/ddb9a5120e39174f03ea/go.html

use what ever u prefer, just dont try to present what u use as being the best and look down on people who have different chooices .

i have a problem though......when i select asio4all, no sound comes out of fruity loops
                maybe this will help

close your internet browsers, windows media player, itunes or whatever. after u closed anything that could make sounds on ur computer even msn (voiceclips n shit..) after that re-open FL studio select asio drivers, then it should work. Once the sounds work, try opening windows media player or youtube or anything else and ull notice u wont hear sound from it. At first i was confused about that shit aswell.
