Cool little interview. He says they didn't go back and record it in studio, so that's saying they recorded explicit and clean in a closet?

So good to see the thought process behind the tracks, and they were recorded in a closet, wow.

              Thanks for this info.

youd be surprised how many songs are done in closets or even hotel rooms. snoop's closet in particular has had many classic songs recorded in there. and he doesnt even empty it out...all the clothes are still in there lol

Well clothes need to be there to absorb reflections of the walls.

some of biggest hits might be recorded with home equipment but everything later gets mixed in big studio, at least thats how it was done back in the days without computer and plugins, so you had to have full racks of compressors, fx units, big console with computer recall and automation.
these days everyone is "producing" and "mixing" in their homes with plugins (that are made to "emulate" the real thing, something like porn but it isnt close to real thing), and its one of reasons why music world is so overfilled with garbage and low quality music.

Yeah its possible to get decent quality in home without spending too much money, but im yet to see album that was recorded with cheap gear and mixed with nothing but plugins that can compare in terms of sonics and punch and quality of mainstream albums that were recorded on top analog gear.

thats why i will continue to spend money on analog hardware till the day i die
