  • JJ drum pack

I want a JJ like drum pack. With sexy open hats and shizz. Any chance I can find something like that?

Why would u want to copy other man sounds? sample drum elements yourself, just like JJ did.

good place to start is 70s soul and rnb records.

I agree with you nikola but it fun to mess around with other peoples samples the closest thing I have is the sp1200 pack alot of old school sounds.

That SP1200 drum pack from the internet is as fake as cow dung!

Naw, like Nikwola said, JJ sampled all hes drums, & to my knowledge, the SP1200 doesn't come or only has very few stock sounds. Since JJ was a die hard Gamble & Huff fan, that'd probably be the best place to start, I would also say JJ used a lot of the sounds from an 808 too, that over-used "SSSSSSST" open hat he uses I think originates from an 808

The kit that I have has that vintage dirt to it especially when you run it on 16 bit. How could it be fake the samples are drums from that era and they sound old school to me I dont see how they are fake.

I had a personal conversation to him about his gear and what he used and it was a 808 that was the cymbal.

I've got a sampler kit, I know it's the real deal, but are you referring to the somewhat, 500 sample SP1200 drum kit? with from what I remember has around 18 open hats for instance...

^ That's the one I'm referring to, it's fake, some cheap compiled crap, show the drum pack to anyone who owns the unit & they'll tell you the same thing.
