    [MENTION=369]Nikola

Some songs, mostly old 1's dont have a perfect BPM, is there a tool or someway to get this corrected quickly? for example if its around 80 bpm, i want it 2 be exactly 80 bpm, the drums exactly lined up? I can do it with chopping n stretching n shit but it can take some time so i was wondering if theres any tools for this

you should be able to change the bpm by changing the tempo?

thats what i use when i do my mixes...

maybe im not understanding the question.. lol..

^nah im talkin about something else, i want a perfect bpm for some old samples sometimes the snares etc dont line up perfectly because its live recorded without a metronome i guess..

oh.. i know what your talking about... you talking about the live play not being exact with every "hit"

i dont think there is much you can do besides cut and paste n sht... you could try changing the tempo in different areas of the loop too.. but that may create some snapping...

there is no way around it unless you make the beat around the sample... like manually put stuff over spots the sample...

or of course cuting the sample down and putting gaps n sht like i said before...

just blame the original drummers for hitting off beat!!! hhhahaahha

it depends on where the snapping is and whats causing it...

sometimes snapping happens because its amped up too much and another is when a frequency is suddenly cut... there are more but these are the most common..

could you give me and example?

                        im talkin about this

                        Example 1

The 2 bar sample loops perfectly, as u can see on the waveform the snares arent exactly on the lines, it should be lined up like the lil blocks under the sample

                        Example 2

Here i speeded up the sample abit, now the last 2 snares are kinda on the line but the first 2 arent, and now the timing of the sample is fucked up again.

of course i can chop the sample and stretch the individual parts 2 match the lines perfectly but thats a pain in the ass sometimes, if i have a sample and i wanna use like 24 bars of it and the timings off then it takes quite some time

@dace.... yea... there is just no way for a program to be able to do that man... lol.. its all gotta be done manually... programs will just be able to line as many of them as they can but again your gonna have random snares that are off in big loops....

live play is the hardest thing to sample because of this problem... and thats also why its harder to loop older beats with live basslines then it is to loop todays computer beats because a lot of stuff is different...

^yeah true, i did see someone do this in pro tools but he had the whole master reel 2 a song, and did it on individual drum tracks like snares, kicks etc. but yeah i guess it wont be possible on a normal track

is there a way to avoid snapping or a way to remove it later?
