Some cool mastering theory I made...

So I was bored and a idea just visited me

i popped up fl studio, put in my under the sun instrumental, which i mastered and everything.
then in the master track I put on some reverb, and upped the bass a tad to emulate a concert or a party or something.
and the outcome was horrible, everything sounded wrong and out of place.

so then i replaced my beat with Dirty Harry by Gorillaz, and t sounded absolutely epic.

so what im saying is that when ur mastering, put on some reverb and some bass and master accordingly.

i havent tried it, but it seems logical lol

i would add some reverb to some elements of the beat maybe and maybe the vocals but i wouldnt just reverb the whole thing... lol

nonono, of course u remove the reverb from the master at the end.

but if u can make it sound right with all the reverb on; then it should sound proffesional at the end without it, like a studio fresh track. kna-mean?

Throwing reverb on the master is not right, kicks, hats and bass dont generally use reverb

For some R&B though it's different

Only thing my master needs is a limiter and compressor

lemme explain in detail, since a proffesionally mastered song sounds epic with reverb, and my shitty instrumental sounds like shit with reverb;

up the reverb in your master and make it sound like your track is on a concert rehearsal, then tweak everything till it sounds badass in a concert. then remove all the reverb (and make sure it sounds right without it too). it will therefore sound proffesionally mastered because if a proffesionally mastered song sounds good with concert like reverb, then if yours sounds good with concert like reverb, it will therefore sound proffesionally mastered.

if y'all still dont get it then ima just have to use this idea for myself lol, but really its like how people get a studio mastered song for refrence for when they master their own mix, only that its more easier to do it with the concert effect.
but obviously you gotta remove the reverb at the end of it lol..

what your saying is, if its good with reverb it should sound good without it & sound professionally mastered
