statement on 80s synths and shit

I dont understand why people would buy old 80s hardware synthesisers and drum machines for the same old 80s sounds. 80s pads are all the same, just slightly different at times, and 80s drums are just like the 808s used in hip hop today, and etc and etc. Sure we can use 80s style sounds for its nice feel-good character itself but when people complain that it sounds too cheap it pisses me off, because 80s sounds are just cheaper happier versions of when its meant to be. You never hear a 80s flute sound and say 'aw yeah thats some rich ass shit', NO they sound fucking dried out and lifeless.
