does any kno how to beat match using mixcraft?? at the min all i do to mix is eitha slow the acapella dwn to match the beat or the otha way round iv seen afew tutorials but no1 seems to show how u match the beat n pella up properly??

Co-sign. I’ve been using Ableton Live for 12 years now. It’s gonna take awhile to grasp some of it but in the end it will be worth it.

You're gonna have to figure out the keynote of the original song and apply that note to the audio you're using via the Project tab.

u jus fuckd it for me bro what and how do u figure out the key of something?lol, does that only apply when looking for the key of an instrumental?? or do u have to find the key for the acapella too?? wouldnt the different rappers voices be in different keys??

Maybe he just meant tempo/bpm. Knowing the key of the acapella and the instrumental you are using helps figure what songs are compatible with what, but it's not really necessary in hip-hop unless there is singing on the chorus of the acapella.

Keynote may also refer to: Tonic (music), the first note of a major or minor scale, from which the 'key' takes its name.

It applies to both the instrumental & vocals; Keynote is basically the initial key & ultimate note throughout the WHOLE song, which is only 1 note.

You can find the key to the Capella by finding the actual track, playing it into your DAW, pulling up a VST instrument (like piano etc.) & going through the notes on the keyboard until it matches the note of the song you want (you can tell if it doesn't because the note you press will clash with the song & be unpleasant to the ear).

@djcoma1200 is right, it's not really necessary with Rap vocals but any professional Producer would go through with this procedure if they were to Remix vocals, no questions asked. When artists record, whether they are singing or rapping, they'll subconsciously/consciously perform it in the same key as the instrumental if they are pros at what they do.

So, if you want professional sounding Remixes; i'd suggest learning this practice of identifying the keynote, it'll make the Remix sound it's best this way.

Get Mixed In Key and learn how to mix “harmonically.” But you don’t want to run acapellas through it. Run the original song the acapella came from to get the key
